FAMILY-OWNED BAY & BAY TRANSPORATION AND LOGISTICS COMPANY PROMOTES SAM ANDERSON TO PRESIDENT
MINNEAPOLIS, MN (December 2, 2005) Bay & Bay, a nation-wide transportation and logistics company has announced the promotion of Sam Anderson, 32, to president. Anderson was formerly vice president of sales and marketing. He is the son of Bay & Bay founders Dave and Lois Anderson who will remain jointly as CEO and chairperson.
Im excited to further position Bay & Bay for long-term stability by focusing on our core service strengths and expanding our customer base, said Anderson, who officially joined Bay & Bay in 1997 upon graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a marketing degree. He will oversee succession and strategic planning, and envisions doubling company revenue to $100 million in the next five years.
Former Bay & Bay President, Lois Anderson, 57, said the time was right for son Sams promotion. He has extensive experience with several of his own businesses and ours. Clearly, he has proven his ability and readiness to take on this responsibility.
Founded in 1989, Bay & Bay has three business units consisting of: (1) Nationwide Dry Bulk, (2) TL & LTL (truckload & less-than-truckload) including FAK (freight of all kinds) & Pad Wrapped services and (3) Logistics. The company currently employs 200 employees and 147 contract drivers. Its fleet, including company-owned and leased equipment, totals 310 tractors and 560 trailers. Bay & Bay is headquartered in Rosemount, Minnesota, a suburb of Minneapolis.
Sam lives with his wife, Tiffany, his two year old son and their two dogs in Eagan, Minnesota. In his leisure time, he enjoys competing in professional walleye fishing tournaments, spending time with his family and visiting relatives in South Dakota.
